EMSV PLAYER'S/SINGER'S MEETING

Performances: Groups or individuals will play a short item (3 - 5 minutes) followed by group playing/ singing.
All WELCOME - singers / instrumentalists can participate in the group playing, but instruments must be of authentic style for the period. The pitch for the afternoon for general playing will be A440 (modern). All vocal parts will be doubled by an instrument.
Music after tea will be at A415 for 'soft' instruments and voices.
MUSIC TO BE PLAYED/SUNG.
General playing/singing - music will be supplied in a variety of clefs. The music is for voices and instruments and all vocal lines are doubled by at least one instrument, so you can sing beside 'your' instrument. There will usually be many players/singers per part.

If you want a sneak preview of the music to be played most of it is on web sites Choral domain (CPDL). All pieces have a rehearsal keyboard part available. "Quiet" instruments (viols, flutes, low recorders etc) may stay for playing in the evening at A415. Upper intermediate or advanced only.
Please let Lyn know if you plan to stay on. A simple tea of soup and bread will be provided for those who wish to play later.

EMSV INSTRUMENTS FOR HIRE for a fee. Only EMSV members may hire the instruments.
The EMSV harpsichord is available for hire. Details are available at http://emsv.org.au/hire-instruments or to check the hire status, email Liz Zetzmann through the EMSV email address: emsvofvic@gmail.com
The EMSV bass viol is also available for hire. Contact Peter Brewer via the EMSVemail if you want to hire the viol : emsvofvic@gmail.com
Both instruments are rented out for 6 weeks at a time. The hire period can be extended if no one else requests the instrument.
Only EMSV members can hire the harpsichord or bass viol. EMSV membership costs $15.
